People of the NsImura village are mainly engaged in coastal fishing, small scale farming such as growing of sugar canes, vegetables. or tobacco. An Awamori (Okinawan liguor distilled from rice) distillery and a Miyako Zyoofu (Miyako hemp cloth) workshop are also there.
