About the Digital Museum Project

The Digital Museum ‘Language and Culture – The Ryukyu Archipelago’ was created through the joint research of the Department of Linguistics at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Letters and the Kyoto University Contents Production Team. Its creation was made possible by financial aid from the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL) and the Kyoto University Global COE Program ‘Global Center of Excellence for Reconstruction of the Intimate and Public Spheres in 21st Century Asia’ (Program Leader: Emiko OCHIAI).
